Due to a change in regulations, the name of the old “Sangrok >136_wo>579_word_end<_end< Awa>579_word_end< for Agricultural and Life Sciences&>579_word_end579_word_end< for Agricultural and Life Sciences&>579_word_end579_word_end<).

The Sangrok Awa>579_word_end< was created by the CALS Foundation of Agricultural Education and >136_wo>579_word_end<_end< in 1991, with a donation from CALS Professor Emeritus Han, In-Kyu, designed to stimulate research and educational activities in the field of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The awa>579_word_end< is given to a CALS professor who has been recognized for his or her outstanding contribution to the promotion and development of scholarship in the field of Agricultural and Life Sciences, through research, writing, and education. Meanwhile, the CALS Scholarship Awa>579_word_end< and the CALS Teaching Awa>579_word_end< were created in 1998 to celebrate the educational and research activities of professors and to advance agricultural science and technology. These awa>579_word_end579_word_end<) and to a professor who exemplifies and encourages best practice in student education, or shows a creative and progressive dedication to teaching (the Teaching Awa>579_word_end<).

Sangrok Awa>579_word_end< 2015 was awa>579_word_end579_word_end< was given to Professor Lee, Dong-Kun from the Department of Landscape Architecture and Rural Systems Engineering; and the CALS Teaching Awa>579_word_end< was given to Professor Lee, Byon-Woo from the Department of Plant Science. Professor Park contributed greatly to the advancement of the college, leading the development of NICEM and playing a decisive role in the formation of the Pyeongchang Campus. Professor Lee, Dong-Kun excelled in education and research, publishing a large number of papers in the field of Landscape Architecture, and producing around 30 Master’s and Ph.D. graduates. Professor Lee, Byon-Woo has been recognized for his efforts to implement a considerate teaching style based on understanding the standpoint of his students, while at the same time producing around 40 Master’s and Ph.D. graduates. All of the prizewinners declared that they would not have received such an honor without the help and support of the whole Seoul National University family; they resolved to make every effort to promote the continued development of the school.
